 Nigeria - A class was held  on how to make fish roll and fish-pie for the students of Success Dream Academy so they can gain knowledge of how to assist their parents at home with breakfasts and we shared it for all the senior and junior students of the secondary school. We shall also make donations of face-masks and hygiene supplies

  Nigeria - It was found necessary  due to the demand, to repeat the exercise from last year,  focusing on eye tests for children and adults , and the distribution of books and reading  glasses.

Assistance to Ethiopia.

 Assistance to Ethiopia. Due to the worsening effects of climate change in east Africa, a shortage of a  water supply is becoming chronic. As a result of a water shortage our efforts to grow crops, fruit and vegetables have been hampered. We  completely lost what we had planted. We are planning to work on different options for making our hostel water supply as reliable as possible.  The supply of a more sustainable  and reliable water supply has been very successful to date.

India - interactive sessions various topics

 The children loved interacting with Matt, Jesse, Stella, Bella & Pablo. There were group discussions on the use of technology in schools, "clicker" trials, cultural exchanges and some henna tattoos too! A fun and interactive evening spent by the younger children with our wonderful guests from The Harvard Business School.

Hope NI Supports those in need Kherson, Ukraine

 Due to the recent circumstances Hope NI  were unable to continue with their long running projects in Kherson, Ukraine. In recent years the focus changed to assisting with much needed everyday necessitous supplies.

Myanmar

Hope NI has been involved in Myanmar (formerly Burma) since 2003. During that time the oppresive rule of the Military Junta led to the breakdown of Burmese society and many children where abandoned with no hope of a future or even life itself.  

We opened our first Children's Home which was a rented building just outside Yangon City. Eventually we were able to purchase land for a purpose built house for up to 50 children. The building was completed in 2009 and is now home to over 25 children from ages 4 to 18. Myanmar is a tropical county however there is no immunization program available and so Hope NI assists with programmes to ensure the children, and their carers, receive the necessary medical care and attention they require.

All of the children have the opportunity to receive education to the highest local standards with many of them continuing into higher education with the aim of becoming nurses, engineers, doctors and ministers. Some are also learning to play the violin, piano and guitar. Each year the children visit the coast for a weeks holiday and childrens camp. This is an exciting and enriching experience for the children, as most of them have never seen the sea before this adventure.  

Grant towards a new 3 storey school in Myanmar  to allow for greater independence away from the civil unrest and the control of the local authorities.
