Educational Materials Support to Primary School Girls Adjacent to the Ruvu Forest Reserve

This is the second implementation phase report following motivation by the previously completed education material support program among primary schools adjacent to the Ruvu Forest Reserve. The program focused on to address the challenges of schoolgirls from poor and deprived families struggling attending classes as compared to boys.

In this second phase, the project provided learning materials support to girls’ pupils in the two project schools namely Mpera and Mumbi. The aim was to increase attendance and reduce absenteeism among primary school girls in selected schools. The project noted a satisfactory increase in the numbers of girls completing Class VII during the end of school year 2025 compared to the year 2024. In Mumbi, we recorded a 30% increase in girls completion rate (78%) compared to (48%) in 2024. Similarly, in the other project school, Mpera, 87% completed primary school compared to 48% during the previous year, a 39% increase.
