The following are the three most important outcomes of the project.
i. A total of 21 primary school teachers from Mpera and Mumbi were empowered and motivated on practical teaching and learning approaches, using forest reserve as the learning resource.
ii. 232 pupils from Mpera and Mumbi primary schools have been trained on sustainability issues, importance of forest, nursery techniques and tree planting skills
iii. 7 villages (where pupils came from) have become integral part of the forest conservation benefiting about 12,000 hectares of the forest reserve.

Monitoring visit to previous project schools were conducted. Provision
of the current project were delayed due to involvement of the project leader
in national census from June to September |

The project work has been shared during local
village meetings. Further dissemination of the project work will be done through host
organization website (www.gicd.or.tz) and the
DTT webpage.

Any unforeseen difficulties raised
during implementation of project activities.
Project
activities were interrupted by the National Census exercises conducted in July
August. Schools were closed and the project leader was appointed as one of the
National Trainers for Census Officers and enumerators. This resulted into a
delay in the project activities particularly monitoring visits and reporting.
